Harm to Ongoing Matter transforms the Mueller report, a symbol of political upheaval, into a conceptual and minimalist art book that critiques the fragility of truth in a post-truth era. By curating 12 pages solely for their redacted graphics, we strip away all text, isolating the black redaction boxes as deliberate visual forms. Devoid of their original context, these minimalist shapes become meditations on censorship, secrecy, and the selective construction of truth.
The work explores the intersections of form, structure, and meaning. The black boxes become compositions of balance, rhythm, and negative space—tools that explore the visual weight of absence. These deliberate voids are as intentional as the spaces that define any structure. Redaction is reframed not as erasure but as a generative act, imbued with presence and meaning. What is withheld fundamentally shapes what remains.
In an age where truth is contested and information weaponized, Harm to Ongoing Matter serves as both a critique and an act of resistance. Absence, we argue, is never neutral—it is an active, volatile space where power resides, demanding critical engagement. Through this work, we transform erasure into presence, reclaiming the narrative of concealment and compelling us to confront the truths hidden in plain sight.
